The Power of the Arts in Primary Schools: research-full practice
CPRT South West’s Research Active Schools Roadshow (Friday 1 July 2016, 11am-3pm)
For more information about the event please click the poster.

Following a successful pilot undertaken by schools associated with the University of Exeter in 2013-14, the next phase of CPRT Research Schools began in June 2014, promoting whole-school approaches to documentation and reflective practice developed in 5x5x5=creativity and building on the action research approaches undertaken in the Exeter pilot.  Our network research focus is on arts and creativity.  The CPR Final Report states the need to ‘vigorously’ re-assert the educational importance of the arts; we aim to support our Research Schools in making a valuable contribution in this respect by widely disseminating the research findings to a range of audiences.

There are five Research Schools working with each university, as follows:

In Exeter: Plymouth School of the Creative Arts; Sidmouth Primary School; St. Leonard’s Primary School, Exeter (CPRT Schools Alliance); Tidcombe Primary School, Tiverton; Woodlands Park Primary School, Ivybridge.

In Bath: Batheaston Primary School, Bath & North East Somerset (CPRT Schools Alliance); Corsham Primary School, Wiltshire; St Andrew’s Primary School, Bath & North East Somerset; St Michael’s Junior School, Bath & North East Somerset; St Vigor & St John Primary School, Chilcompton, Somerset.
